Greetings From East Africa!

As I do every year, I am in Africa looking at properties, searching for new experiences, and seeing old friends. This year I am in East Africa visiting Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar. Bella and I strive every day to make sure your safaris are perfect, and this is part of the process.

My first stop is Uganda where it has been a few years since I have visited. In the few days I am here I have visited Murchison Falls, Trekked with Chimpanzees, Learned how to make home roasted coffee, drink Banana Gin and visited with Gorillas. Not to mention seeing huge Nile crocodiles, elephants, hartebeest, waterbucks, bushbucks and of giraffe. This is also a birder’s paradise.

Uganda is a beautiful country. I am already envisioning some really unique itineraries that can also be easily combined with Kenya and Tanzania.

Stay tuned for further adventures….

  • RIP Craig

It is not every day that a country and the world mourns the death of an elephant, but Craig was no ordinary elephant. Craig was one of the last “Tusker” elephants with giant tusks measuring over six feet in length. Craig resided in the Amboseli area of Kenya where, as many of you know, Infinite Safari and its Foundation are very involved. While it is sad that Craig has passed, we can take solace in the fact that despite those…

  • Guess what I did last night?

After arriving at Solio Ranch and spending the afternoon looking a wildlife and visiting the orphanage, Kevin asked me if I wanted to go with him as at about 7:30 pm 2 male and 1 female ostrich were arriving by truck to be added to the wonderful wildlife here. Of course I said yes. The plan was to meet the truck carrying the ostriches at the orphanage, release them and then head back for dinner. It had been raining here…

  • It Is Good to Be Back in Rwanda

Rwanda is an amazing country. The first to ban single-use plastic bags. A spotless nation where, on the last Saturday of every month, citizens take part in Umuganda Day, or National Service Day, when everyone is responsible for taking care of their neighborhood. It has been a few years since I have been back, and it has been a wonderful return. Rwanda is still progressing. While there has been an explosion of moto bikes, the government has now mandated that…

  • Meet Cleopatra Mdudenda

As you know the Infinite Safari Foundation supports conservation, humanitarian and educational initiatives throughout Eastern and Southern Africa. We are proud to support the Women in Tourism Program in Zambia, created by the African Bush Camps Foundation. The foundation is affiliated with African Bush Camps, which frequently hosts Infinite Safari Adventures guests. In many communities, young women remain largely shut out of tourism opportunities due to limited access to further education, financial barriers, geographic isolation, and social norms. Many lack the training, networks,…

  • Finishing Up In Zanzibar

After a wonderful time in Tanzania, seeing some amazing places, visiting with old friends and always making new ones it was time to move on to Zanzibar. No, I did not run into Bob Hope, Bing Crosby or Dorothy Lamour (my goodness I am dating myself if you do not get that reference!) but did run into some beautiful beaches, delicious Zanzibarian cuisine and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. There is nothing like rolling out of bed in…
