Rosalie’s House
At Infinite Safari Adventures giving back is not optional. It is part of our responsibility. It is who we are. One of things that means is supporting the people who live alongside wildlife. And to better do that we started The Infinite Safari Foundation. We donate a portion of every safari booked to the foundation in our clients’ name.
One of the initiatives we support is the Amani Foundation. It was created to keep families together, with a focus on the communities who are living alongside wildlife and national parks. Too often, children of poachers end up in orphanages. Fathers are killed or arrested, leaving families with few options. Many single mothers place their children in orphanages for hope of a more stable future, and it’s a heartbreaking choice. Yet, these outcomes are not inevitable. More broadly, nearly 90% of children in orphanages around Tanzania have living family members. And when we empower families, they face fewer impossible choices.
To help support the Amani Foundation, the Infinite Safari Foundation has built a space for Amani Initiatives. It is a place where families can meet with staff, access guidance and resources, and develop livelihoods that make it possible to stay together. The goal is to strengthen families to depend upon themselves and stay whole with eco-friendly livelihoods.
The house will be known as “Rosalie’s House” in honor of our 16-month old granddaughter. We asked it to be called that because when Rosie is old enough, we want her to see that her “Babu & Bibi” worked to leave the world a bit better than they found it, to show the world that those who are born with more need to share and to have a little surprise for her on her first safari in 2030!
