  • Day 5: Climb High, Sleep Low

Today is a “climb high, sleep low” day, designed to help your body acclimatize to the altitude. You’ll ascend into the alpine desert, a dramatic landscape characterized by sparse vegetation and rugged terrain. The higher you climb, the more you’ll feel the thin air, but the rewarding views make every step worthwhile.

For those feeling strong, there’s the option to push even higher after lunch, before descending back to camp. This approach helps your body adjust to the altitude by spending time at higher elevations during the day, then returning to a lower camp to sleep, aiding in better acclimatization.

Enjoy a picnic lunch on the trail today, with the opportunity to rest and fuel up before tackling the remaining climb. The experience of ascending into the alpine desert is both challenging and rewarding, with stunning vistas and a sense of progress toward the summit.

Even with the harsh conditions, the views of Mawenzi Peak in the evening are often breathtaking, offering a stunning contrast to the vast, windswept landscape. After a relatively early dinner, retreat to your tent for a rest, knowing that tomorrow will bring you one step closer to reaching the summit.

  • Day 8: The Final Push to the Summit

Most climbers begin their summit bid just before midnight, embarking on the challenging final ascent to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa. Patience and persistence are key as you make your way through the cold, dark night. As dawn breaks and the first rays of light appear, you’ll be nearing the rim of the crater.

You’ll ascend via Stella Point, which offers a relatively short final stretch to the summit, where the view from Uhuru Peak is nothing short of breathtaking. After reaching the summit, take in the sense of achievement and marvel at the incredible landscape below.

But the journey doesn’t end at the peak. What goes up must come down, and today’s goal is to descend to Mweka Camp, where you’ll rest and reflect on the incredible achievement of reaching the highest point in Africa.

What About the Pricing?

At Infinite Safari Adventures, we design custom safaris tailored to your preferences, which is why you won’t find set prices on our website.

The cost of your safari depends on a variety of factors, like where you go, when you go, how many of you go, what properties we use, what specials they may offer, and what activities you choose to do.

As a guideline, our safaris typically range from $1,000 to $1,500 per person per day. Because our safaris are custom, we will work with you to create an itinerary that aligns with your budget and travel goals.

You’ll always know your safari cost upfront—no surprises. Let’s start planning your adventure.
