Dog Collar FAQs

Q: What size should I buy

A: The best way to choose your dog’s collar is to take one of their existing collars and measure it or measure the circumference of your pet’s neck. Then add 2 inches to this measurement. If it is between two of our sizes then order the bigger size.

When you receive your collar, buckle it on your dog so that it rests high on his/her neck but not too loose. You should adjust it so that you can place two fingers under the collars. This will not only make it comfortable but, allow you to grab it if necessary.

Q: What if the collar does not fit?

A: We want you and your best friend to be happy. If it does not fit simply send it back to us and we will send you out a replacement (if we have your size in stock) or issue you a refund.

Q: Are All Collars The Same?

A: No. These are not made in a shop or factory but by a group of women in a village. And while I underwrite all the costs, they source the materials that are available to them. Thus, the colors, types of buckles and width of the collars can vary. Regardless, they are all beautiful and made with love.

Q: Should I let my dog wear it every day?

A: We do not recommend that you let your dog wear the collar as an everyday collar. Some of the intricate beadwork can break especially if your dog likes to play a lot. Like the Maasai, who dress up for special occasions, dress your dog up for that time to run errands, dine with you or attend that special function!
