It combines a visit to the majestic Victoria Falls, Game Drives in National Parks, including the Okavango Delta in Botswana where one can expect to see wildlife from the land and water including Elephants, Giraffes, Lions, Leopards, Zebras, Gazelles and Hippos as well as hundreds of species of birds. Full Itinerary
Day 1: Today you will arrive at Livingstone Airport from your African arrival destination of Johannesburg Tambo International Airport (Note: the flight from Johannesburg to Livingstone is not included in pricing as it is probably less expensive to include it as part of your international ticket.) Upon arrival at Livingstone and clearing customs and immigration you will be met by a representative of Infinite Safari Adventures and driven to Tongabezi Lodge where you will then take a short (approx. 30 minute) boat ride to Sindabezi Island (FB including non-premium drinks, lodge activities and laundry service), Tongabezi’s island retreat in the middle of the Zambezi River. With all the creature comforts you can ask for (including a bathtub outdoors!) Sindabezi will feel like an escape from it all. Here you can relax in your private island paradise. This award winning eco-friendly camp, whose owners give back to the local community, boasts just 5 thatched cottages.
Day 2: Wake up to birds singing and perhaps elephants coming to the river to drink. Make your way to visit Victoria Falls one of the natural wonders of the world and “discovered” by Dr. David Livingstone. At the end of your tour of the falls day return for an amazing meal, which can be had overlooking the Zambezi or up in the Sindabezi tree house. Spend another incredible night at Sindabezi Island (FB including non-premium drinks, lodge activities and laundry service).
Day 3: Spend a final day at Sindabezi Island (FB including non-premium drinks, lodge activities and laundry service). Today you will have the option of participating in a choice of activities including a sunset cruise, paddling on the Zambezi or visiting the local school that the owners of Sindabezi support. Or simply do nothing at all. The day is yours to do as you please. By now you should be in the rhythm of Africa as you fall asleep with the Zambezi flowing by you.
Day 4: This morning after breakfast and saying good by to the staff who will have become like members of your family, the boat will take you back to Tongabezi and you will be transferred by road to Botswana and Chobe Game Lodge (FB including activities, local brand drinks and laundry service). This beautiful property where I have stayed sits on the Chobe River. What makes this place even more unique is not only that all the guides are women but they use electric safari vehicles and are eco certified. Here you will spend the next 3 nights doing game drives, take a boat trip down the Chobe River and enjoying the wonderful hospitality of this lodge.
Day 5: This morning you will arise early and after coffee, juice and muffins head out on a game drive. There will be lots to see and your local guide will amaze you with his knowledge and his ability to spot wildlife. After you will return for a sumptuous breakfast and to relax. In the afternoon, after lunch you have the option of another activity which can be a romantic sunset cruise down the Chobe River. Cruises on small boats that afford you spectacular wildlife viewing and enable you to experience unforgettable African sunsets. Game viewing on the Chobe River is conducted by small, shallow draft and highly manoeuvrable boats piloted by expert boatwomen. Return for dinner and drinks before heading off to bed. Spend another night at Chobe Game Lodge (FB including activities, local brand drinks and laundry service).
Day 6: Spend another day at Chobe Game Lodge (FB including activities, local brand drinks and laundry service). Do some of the activities that you did not do the day before. Go on more game drives. Chobe National Park has a large population of elephants as well as giraffe, zebra, impala, sable, wildebeest, kudu, waterbuck, warthog, eland as well as predators lion, hyena, jackal, bat-eared fox and possible sightings of cheetah and wild dog. You can even go for a walking safari with your guide in nearby Kasane forests. Tonight you may want to star gaze with your guide, as the night sky is amazing with so little nearby light pollution
Day 7: After your early morning game drive, breakfast and checking out you will be transferred by road to Kasane Airport to connect with a seat on charter flight from Kasane to Pom Pom Airstrip. Soar above Botswana and enjoy the view as you make your way to Camp Moremi (FB including all activities and local brand drinks) in Botswana’s world-renowned Moremi Game Reserve. Camp Moremi is situated on the edge of the Xakanaxa Lagoon in an area well known for its spectacular game-viewing opportunities.
Day 8: Spend a full day in the Delta. You can either explore by vehicle, motorboat, mokoro (a dug out canoe), or take leisurely walks on surrounding islands. The latter provides the opportunity to experience a classic Okavango Delta safari. Birdwatching opportunities are outstanding, and fishing for bream and tigerfish is also offered. Spend another night at Camp Moremi (FB including activities, local brand drinks and laundry service).
Day 9: Spend a final full day in the Delta. Enjoy the many opportunities available. Enjoy wonderful meals and high tea out here in the Delta (you will not go hungry!) Go on a game drive. Go for a dugout canoe trip or for a bush walk. Spend a final night at Camp Moremi (FB including activities, local brand drinks and laundry service).
Day 10: You will arise early in the morning for a final game drive. Afterwards enjoy a buffet brunch and then it is off to the Moremi Airstrip. Once there you will take a charter flight to Maun Airport where you will catch a commercial flight to begin your journey home or continue your adventure in Cape Town.
